OUR VINEYARDS

Nowadays, the Langa family is the owner of more than 70 hectares of vineyard spread in two of our domains, both enjoying completely different climatic conditions, which result in the unique aromatic variety of the whole ?Appellation d´Origine? of Calatayud.

ORGANIC BASES
Open minded and ready to improve, we do the same with our wines, which has caused all of our vineyards to be developed according to ecological methodology.
All in all, there is no place for chemical fertilizers, insecticides, weedkillers?, here what prevails is balance, that shall not be broken using chemical products which wipe out the flora, fauna and the microbiology which will become in the natural wine yeasts that will make the wine ferment.

LOS YERMOS
Los Yermos domain is located in the Sierra de Armantes, close to the Torralba de Ribota village,a few miles away from Calatayud at an altitude of 600 m. and enjoying an annual rainfall of 450 mm.
When arriving at this domain where prevail the rosemary, thyme and the small herbs which grow with difficulty in the poor soils and where the vineyard develops better, we have a distant view of Los Yermos which looks like an oasis in the middle of the desert. Its green healthy leaves stand out from the brown colours, olives on the ground and local plants. Over Los Yermos is the hermitage of Ciguela which contributes a romantic and mysterious touch to the place on a stage where the magnificent presence of two towers naturally built over centuries rules the mountain valley in the Sierra de Armantes where our land is located.
Flat stony materials and clays constitute the soils of the Sierra de Armantes. These kind of soils are the best for planting vines, and explain why agriculture in the area is of long-standing.
Due to the adverse climate, particularly because of the spring frosts, this domain is exclusively cultivated with the variety of Cabernet Sauvignon which produce shoots comparatively late avoiding the Spring frosts.

EL COLL
The domain of El Coll, located in full Port of El Frasno, near to the village with the same name, is at an altitude of 750 m. and has an annual rainfall of 550 mm; ideal conditions for vine cultivation.
This vineyard is radically opposite to Los Yermos, here a micro climate made the development of these vines different. The climate is fresher and under the influence of the Mount Moncayo runs a permanent soft breeze that makes the maturity process slower and more aromatic. Here rainfalls are more plentiful and the soils deeper leading to the domination of pine trees on the higher sites and cherry and almond trees on the slopes
